Hi. I attended OAS in 72-73, a short but unforgettable episode of my life. Great to have a site to go to again and see what fellow students are up to, I was feeling like some species on its way to extinction!
Keep up the good work
Hi Mike,
I just registered today. I registered at another site for OAS a few years ago but haven't found that site as of yet.....have changed computers and starting from scratch. Mike, didn't you run that site as well? There were pictures there from my time at OAS.....fall of 59 through spring of 63. Does that site still exist? If not, are the pictures posted here somewhere?
My sister (Kim) & I attended OAS from 1970-74 (6th - 9th grades for me). Would love to hear from anybody that recognizes our unique last name!! Over the past 30 years I've occasionally heard from Mary Cozine, Beth German and Sandy & Doug Foss.
Anybody out there know what ever happened to Roger Ives??
Hi Tim,
Sorry, can't help you. I was at OAS from 59 to 63.....1st through the 4th grade......probably the best years of my schooling....actually, The Best years. Because of this website I stumbled upon the dvd documentary about Army Brats....Journey Home....something like that.....ordered two. One for me and one for my son who just gave me a grand daughter and a new Army Brat. Hooah! After reading all the views and reviews of the movie, I'm looking forward to seeing it. It looks like I'm going to learn something about myself I didn't know but will know when I see it explained in the movie. Sound like Rumsfeld, eh? Anyone else here with children now serving? Sure is different when a child goes off to war.......harder. By the way, didn't I see that a reunion is set for next year in D.C.?
Thanks for continuing the OAS Alumn{i,ae} website!
I attended OAS for part of sixth grade, January 1957 onward,
all of seventh grade, Fall 1957 - Spring 1958, and part of eighth grade,
Fall 1958 - March 1959.
The school was a great experience - - we played outdoors at every opportunity -- sliding pans on the hillside in winter, building slush dams during the spring thaw, and softball in the warmer weather. In the wintertime, Mr. Lamb, the principal, occasionally took our class to a gymnasium/swimming pool in downtown Oslo.
I specifically remember these classmates: Diane Hellquist ( our Sixth Grade teacher's daughter ), Patty Fogarty, Jeanne Carlson, Merle Avery, and BJ ???, and Ed Phillips, Randy Jacobs, Bill Petrozini, Bill Savuto, John Crews, and Mike ???. Years later I ran across Jeanne and Randy back in the States.
I have some photos of the Boy Scout Troop; Randy sent me a photo of the Eighth Grade Graduation. I would love to share photos.

(2) Chris Baer used to run a site called the "Oslo American School Alumni Search Page". He discontinued this site several years ago, but much of it can still be found in the Wayback Machine's internet archives by searching for "http://www.cris.com/~chbaer/oas.shtml". Here is Wayback's copy as it existed in August of 2000:

I attended OAS from 1961-64, (6th, 7th & 8th grades)...like everyone else, I have lots of good memories about our time there.....probably the best time of my life....went back in '05 for the Centennial 17th of May celebration, and back again in '06.....got around town like I had never left...great that you have maintained things, I look forward and am hoping that others find this site, would be great to talk to some people from my time there....
Hi all, Robin Kurth here. My sister Jill and I went to school there in 63 & 64. Mom's Norwegian, Dad was Air Force. We lived on Telthusbakken (oldest st. in Oslo) with our Aunt when Dad was on TDY for a year or so. So many fond memories of Norway and hope to return for good one day.
My teacher was Mrs. Rucker (2nd gr.) and the principal was Mr. Rucker.
My Grandfather lived in Holmenkollen near the ski jump. My Uncle still lives there.
Grandmother lived on Vibesgate and worked at Edward A. Backe's butcher shop.
We spent much of our playtime at the King's castle park and Frongner Park.
