We were in Norway for 2 four year tours with two years between the tours. We moved there in 1958 and moved back to the u.s. in 1968.

Default Hi Mike

My sister and I started the first grade at OAS in 1955 and left in December 1957. We were at the old barracks school with the pillbox and destroyed house out front. Thanks for keeping the OAS site online.

My family (Hardy) was in Oslo from 75 - 78. My brother and sister went to OAS during that time and are on the 76-77 and 77-78 rosters (Oslo American School Class Rosters).

I may have attended as well -- not certain since I was young -- but only remember "barnehagen(?)".

I've searched for years for info on the "American School" that my family spoke of. This is the first day that I've found anything on it, so I'm all smiles .

Default Hello

I can't believe that there is a website for Oslo American School Alums!!
For some reason, I decided to looked up the school and found the official site. Thanks to the internet!

I found my name on the class list for the 3rd/4th grade. Unfortunately, the only name that I recognize is Lisa Tanga.

My father was stationed in Oslo from 1965 - 1969. After 20 years of service, my dad retired to spend more time with the family. A year later, in 1972, he was killed in a car accident. Is there any way that I can find out what his responsibilities were? I have no information on what he did...I just know that we moved around a lot!

I raced cross country skiing and ice skating for 3 years.

My family was close to the Mercurio family....so if any of this information sounds familiar to you, please let me know.

We camped with many Navy families in the summer and went skiing with them in the winter.

I look forward to hearing from anyone who may have known me.

Linda (Fuchs) Klein

Smile Glen Mercurio

Just found the site and registered
We were in Oslo Norway from June of 1967 through June of 1970
My sister Stephanie and I both attended OAS during those years...
I was there for 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades she was there 6th, 7th, and 8th...

Yes Linda I read your post and you have PM

Steph is looking for the old "Eagles" Yearbooks this week so perhaps we can add missing info for those years...

We lived on Arnebråtveien just North of the Holmen metro station and just South of Holmenkollbakken...
We are both looking for pics from then and will add them as I can scan them in...

Thanks to the Admins that have taken the time to get this up and running...

Hey Glen...

glad to hear from you. I do know that my parents had a lot of fun with your parents. I happened to reminisce about the great times that I had in Norway and by going on line I came across this site. Hope all is well with your family
